For example, just this past May, a blockbuster finding was published that the climate sensitivity—how much the earth’s average surface temperature increases as a response to increasing greenhouse gas concentrations—is some 40% less than the average value characteristic of the collection of climate models that the IPCC used to produce the projections of future climate change—projections which are at the heart of the IPCC reports. 1. The most charitable way to describe the result is complete and utter nonsense. I do not want to exaggerate, but this paper is not even a mess.

2. (T)hat study on the polar bear numbers. The problem is that it’s not based on counts of polar bears. It’s based on computer models. So where they have counted the polar bears, as I understand it, all but one sub-population of polar bears are increasing. And there’s one in which a small, and as I remember it, statistically insignificant decrease in numbers. Al the rest of it is computer simulations, based on ice-declines therefore the populations must have gone down. Again, this is a hypothesis, it’s not science.

Este foi o 1º ano que senti que já não tenho exactamente a mesma paciência para festivais, especificamente para o Alive (sim, porque há dois anos fui ao Meco e jurei para nunca mais). 

O mais irritante foi mesmo estar em Alt-J numa aflição porque estava a gostar tanto mas daí a 5 minutos começavam os Kings of Leon. Ah, e os Of Monsters and Men foram uma agradável surpresa (não suporto o single deles, nem me lembro do nome).
